Lion’s Club Bingo is back

After being shut down by the COVID-19 restrictions, the Canyon Lake Lion’s Club is reopening its Bingo Night on July 18 at the Canyon Lake Senior Center.

Approximately 50 Canyon Lakers have gathered in the past for the Lion Club’s Bingo Fundraiser. The club invites adult members (18 and over) of the community to play Bingo on the first and third Sundays of every month from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. All proceeds go toward the various charities the Lion’s Club supports.

Admission is $10 per six-sheet set. Special games are also available for $1.00 each. The amount of the cash payouts depends on the number of players in each game.

Nancy Coughlin holds cash won at a Canyon Lake Lion’s Club Bingo Fundraiser held prior to the COVID-19-mandated closure of the semi-monthly event. The first Bingo night at the Senior Center will take place July 18 and will continue with events on the first and third Sunday of each month.

Newbies need not be intimidated, Joanna Spiller of the club said. The Bingo caller explains each game before it is played, she said. Lion Club volunteers are on hand and ready to offer assistance to those who are new to the game or need help.

Daubers are available for $1.00 each. Chips and canned soda are available for purchase for 50 cents each. Attendees are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks, Joanna said. Those wishing to attend from outside the community should call Nancy Coughlin at 951-805-0543 or Joanna at 951-244-1553 for gate entrance.
