Letter: Former mayor moving to Arizona

Editor, The Friday Flyer:

Mary Craton

The time has come. I’m getting old and since I have no family here, I’m moving to Peoria, Arizona to be near my niece. I’ll be leaving very soon.

I’m going to terribly miss Canyon Lake. The people are wonderful and I love it here. I am so grateful for the time I had on the City Council and as Mayor. It gave me many opportunities to help others and that’s what nurses do.

To my many friends, I shall truly miss you. Thank you for making me part of your lives.

Clair Bond and Barbara Horrigan have been real troopers in helping me pack…egads, what a job! Please remember my motto: Be kind to others and make someone smile every day.

Love and happiness to you.

— Mary Craton
