GoFundMe set up for man found dead in Canyon Lake

A memorial was held last week for the Jessee Fischer, the man whose body was found floating near the shore in Canyon Lake last month. A GoFundMe campaign has been established by his fiancé, Shaina Mejia, to try and recover funds for the funeral and moving forward in raising their two-year-old son, Greyson.

It appears Jessee died as the result of a seizure before falling into the water. He had been fishing in the back portion of the North Ski Area. He was a Menifee resident at the time of his death.

“It has been such a hard process for us to understand how this could’ve happened,” Shaina said in the GoFundMe description. “He was just about to celebrate his second Father’s Day, his son turning two, and his 24th birthday.”

Shaina said that with the sudden and unexpected death, their little family was prepared for such an event.

“If anyone is able to help us by donating for funeral expenses and helping to be able to provide the best we can for our son, we would be so grateful,” she said. “I want to thank all of the police and search teams who helped us recover his body.

This has been the hardest thing we’ve had to endure and we cannot thank everyone enough for the prayers and endless support through this very dark time.”
