Women’s Golf holds Aloha Tournament

Almost 100 players participated in the wildly successful Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club’s 2021 Member Guest Tournament where members invited guests and past members to participate. The popular event carried an Hawaiian them and was named The Aloha Tournament.

Teams of four each played “Two Best Balls” throughout the tournament, which was divided up into three flights.

After play was complete, a luncheon with Hawaiian table decorations was held at the Canyon Lake Country Club.

Those in the club who organized the tournament were Ura Furry, Kathy Homewood, Nancy Zimmerman, Joanna Spiller, Katy Werder and Babette Stubbs.

“The Women’s Golf Club plays every Tuesday at 8:00 a.m.,” Babbette, the club’s corresponding secretary, said. “To join us for Tuesday play, please check in at the Magnolia Room at 7:00 a.m. For more information regarding membership, please contact Donna Nunes by email dkaynunes@ca.rr.com.”

The results of the Aloha Tournament were:

First place for best gross score in the A Flight with a Score 150 were Jude Donahue, Castillo Fowler, Pat Gallagher and Judith Turco.

A Flight — 1st Gross – Score 150 – Jude Donahue, Castillo Fowler, Pat Gallagher and Judith Turco; 1st Net – Score 106 – KK Beecher, Anita Hoelker, Debbie Johnson and Sue Jordan.; 2nd Net – Score 108 – Jeannette Williams, Victoria Wood, Stephanson, and Barbato and 3rd Net – Score 108 – Mary Burns, Geri Burrows, Salley Fiebelkorn, and Rachael Rey.

First place for best gross score in the B Flight with a Score 159 were Dianne Schneider, Marsha Baum, Diane Cole and Donna Gardino.

First place for best gross score in the C Flight with a Score 113 were Linda Kamashian, Brenda Kemball, Anne Norris and Joni Anderson.
