Despite pandemic, POA’s 2020 huge year

With construction work being deemed essential right from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, planned upgrades of the Canyon Lake community moved forward. Dozens of projects have been completed and continue to be carried out.

“Your Board of Directors, Canyon Lake POA management, and staff have all worked very hard this past year to upgrade and update our community while staying within budget,” a report on the Canyon Lake POA’s projects said.” All this was guided by the board’s decision to adopt a set of ‘Principles’ last year to help navigate the year ahead.”

Several of the guiding principles adopted, such as “protect our property values,” “enhance our unique identity,” and “continuous improvement to enhance our services and community,” gave direction for many of the positive changes that have taken place over the last year. Funding for all these projects came from three reserve accounts that are maintained annually following state law and careful planning, the report said.

These projects are planned and paid for with funds from three reserve accounts and scheduled to continue through the 2021-2022 fiscal year and stay within budget without any dues increase related to the reserve fund allocation.

Projects can take years to develop and go through many stages before a finished product is realized. Below is a list of the major projects that the Canyon Lake POA is currently working on or completed this past year. These are in addition to the ongoing repair and maintenance projects completed monthly.
