100s show up for Easter Bunny photos, eggs

Under sunny skies and warm temperatures, the Canyon Lake Family Matters Club held its annual Easter Egg-stravaganza on Saturday at Holiday Harbor.

With over 250 children signed up for photos, as well as about 30 more who dropped by, the Easter Bunny photo booths were busy with picture-taking activity during the two-hour event.

Additionally, over 3,000 eggs were gathered at the Easter Egg Hunt by hundreds of festively-dressed Canyon Lake kids. Each child also left with a special toy and/or craft.

“Thank you to all our Family Matters Club volunteers for all their hard work,” organizer Shawna Bowen said. “and a special thank you to our two Easter Bunnies, Trey Bowen and Donna Lovejoy (aka Grandma Bunny).”

Because the Easter event this year had to be put on with social distancing in mind, the club decided this year to have photos with the Easter Bunny taken by family members. Family Matters Club hosted the event free of charge.
