Concerts at Lodge still on, being flexible

Canyon Lake’s Concerts at the Lodge have been scheduled for dates beginning in April, but producer Doug Schultz is needing to be nimble and flexible with the dates of the indoor concert series. Holding the concerts will require the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

“There is a lot of excitement regarding the strong talent line-up, which we hope will turn into substantial ticket sales as the pandemic wanes and the vaccines ramp up,” Doug said. “COVID-19 restrictions will need to be lifted related to indoor venues and capacity.”

The first concert, featuring the band Canned Heat, will kick off the series on April 24 if restrictions for indoor gatherings are rescinded in time.

“I already have a postponement date, if needed, for the first show with Canned Heat in April to October,” Doug said. “It’s looking like that postponement will probably be the case.”

Canned Heat

The other concerts stand a much better chance of being pulled off. Chart-topping country music duo Love and Theft are scheduled to perform on June 26. Then, on Aug. 28, Craig Campbell, a solo country singer, who signed with Bigger Picture Music Group and has had many singles on the charts, will take the Lodge stage. The popular hard rock band, L.A. Guns, is set to perform on Nov. 13.

Love and Theft

“We are hopeful that all bands will proceed as scheduled,” Doug said. “If not, there is also the possibility of moving the shows to the outdoor amphitheater. The amphitheater concerts could be paid shows to an amphitheater-only audience or a free show that we call ‘Rock the Boat’ to boats on the water and people in the amphitheater. Required social distancing at that time plays a role in making those decisions.”

All ticket sales are now open. Information about the pricing of tickets and their purchase can be found at www.canyonlakepoa.com.
