Steve Baker and Keith Bridges won first place in the Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club February Tournament. Their five largest fish weighed a total of 17.02 pounds. This was Keith’s first time participating in a club tournament.
The monthly competition found 29 anglers in 14 boats participating, according to the club’s Jude Donahue. The boats hit the water at 6:00 a.m. and fished until 2:00 p.m. Each team’s heaviest five bass were weighed and then returned to the lake.
The Biggest Bass of the Day was caught by Shannon Perkins who hauled in a 8.87 pounder.
Second place in the team competition went to Jim Wright and Kirk Beardsley with their five fish weighing in at 14.63 pounds. Third place was Nolan Cromwell and Danny Batinich with their catch weighing 13.31 pounds.
The March competition will take place March 6.
