Family matters…even in a pandemic

The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club wants to thank all our supporter for an unusual, but eventful 2020. We were so happy to bring several modified events to the community during that time.

We thank everyone for participating and helping to keep the community moral up. We would also like to thank our board who always was there to help make sure we always figured out a way to still make things happen in 2020.

The accomplishments of 2020 we are proud of are:

Easter Brigade. Social distance Easter Egg drop off to 112+ kids in the community and our Easter Bunny Parade.

The Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser. This was such a fun event. People loved seeing the bright and cheery flamingos pop up in their yards and then send them off to unsuspecting friends and neighbors.

Photo Contest with Computer Giveaway. We ran several contests asking for fun photos of family activities during COVID-19. Several winners were awarded with iMac computers.

Graduation Parade. It was wonderfully attended by over a 100 cars and golf carts carrying the Graduating High School and College Seniors in Canyon Lake. We’re looking forward to being able to add a celebration party at the end of the parade this year.

Adopt a Senior Program. The community could adopt a gradating senior and send them goodies and care packages in lieu of them all missing out on their graduation ceremonies.

Helping Hands. We helped with stuffing 800 care bags.

Pasta Fundraiser. Everyone enjoyed the fun fundraiser and it helped us raised the funds we needed to continue helping out the remainder of the year.

Turkey Hand Drawing Contest. In association with the POA kids drew turkeys and we handed out gift cards to the winners.

Letters to Santa. The kids all received back a personalized letter with special reindeer food and each child received something on their wish letter to Santa. 78 kids in all participated.

We have been there for all of you during this crazy COVID-19 2020 and we thank all of our Canyon Lake family for your continued support. We look forward to being there for you in 2021 and can’t wait to be back with our Community Swap Meet, Western BBQ and Quartermania to name a few.
