Passengers can join Yacht Club boats

Canyon Lake Yacht Club members are opening up their boats for others in the community to enjoy the 2020 Tour of Waterfront Holiday Displays next Saturday evening. Reservations are being accepted for these at the club’s CanyonLakeYachtClub.com website.

The tour is open to all Canyon Lake residents and guests and will begin at about 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 19. The Yacht Club will offer limited seating on their boats for the tour, with social distancing and safe health practices determined by individual captains.

This is one of the many Canyon Lake waterfront homes that will be considered for awards at the Canyon Lake Yacht Club’s Waterfront Holiday Display contest it is holding. Members will be touring the displays from their boats next Saturday. Photo submitted by Ron Wilbur

The club requests a donation to the Yacht Club for all non-Yacht Club member passengers. Proceeds will benefit the club’s scholarship fund and other club philanthropic activities.

The Yacht Club will be naming winners of the best lakeside displays and will supply a map on Dec. 19 that will identify these award-winners on its website so that other boats can also take the tour on their own.

Canyon Lake Yacht Club is sponsoring a community-wide competition for holiday displays at waterfront homes. Winning displays and neighborhoods will receive awards in a number of categories. There is no fee to enter and judges will travel to all coves and main channel homes to view and determine award-winning displays during the coming week.
