Canyon Lake scout finishes project

After raising funds from Canyon Lake yard sales and other donations, Canyon Lake teen Blake Dalton successfully completed his Eagle Project last week which paves the way for him to receive the Boy Scout’s most prestigious Eagle  Award.

The project included planning the project, financing it and constructing it. Blake made the decision to build a bin to be located outside the H.O.P.E. Thrift Store in Lake Elsinore so that donations could be made after hours and also could be made without making contact, during these COVID-19 concerns.

“I would like to thank the Canyon Lake Community and Joe’s Hardware for the support of my Eagle Project,” Blake said. “Helping the organization H.O.P.E. in Lake Elsinore was a project to help those in need during this difficult time.”

Blake is a senior at Temescal High School and a member of Troop 2011. With the project complete and with other merit badge and advancements finished, Blake will now go before a Board of Review before receiving the award at Eagle Court of Honor. A small percentage of Scouts receive the award.
