Canyon Lake 9er’s Golf Club donates breakfast to local first responders

The Canyon Lake 9er’s Golf Club doesn’t just play golf! Members of the club spent Tuesday gathering breakfast items to deliver to the local first responders who serve Canyon Lake.

The club delivered the breakfasts to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Department, the Riverside County Fire Station 94 in Canyon Hills and the Riverside County Fire Station 60 in Canyon Lake.

The breakfasts included hearty breakfast burritos, fruit baskets, snacks, coffee, orange juice and the necessary paper products and fixings.

Approximately 50 breakfast burritos were delivered to the agencies, 38 to the police and 12 to the fire stations. The Canyon Lake Market prepared both bacon and sausage burritos, including two types of salsa for each of the burritos.

“The 9er’s would like to thank our members for generously donating money to help cover the cost of the burritos and for the Canyon Lake Market for giving a discount,” club member Mavis Schutz said.

The Canyon Hills Starbucks donated coffees to all the responders. The club members also provided large fruit baskets with snacks, all the paper goods, orange juice and other fixings for a the breakfasts. Pictures were taken of the 9ers and some of the first responders at each delivery.

“The recipients were so pleased by the generous donations,” Mavis said. “We are so grateful to our much respected first responders for all they do.”

Canyon Lake 9er’s Golf Club members Denise Viotti, Barbie Spencer and Linda Kielty organized the event. Helen Sullivan provided the orange juice, Rose Girard the beautiful fruit baskets, Anna Peters and Mavis Schutz the paper goods and Sylvie Taylor worked with the Canyon Hills Starbucks to obtain its donation.
