East Gate to close for Monday; lots also closing

East Gate to close for MondayOngoing pavement projects continue to improve and maintain the quality of the streets and parking lots throughout Canyon Lake. Many of the projects are at critical junctures and are resulting in temporary closures and altered access.

The most notable of these closures will be that of the East Gate entrance and exit. It will be closed on Monday (May 18) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pavement work will be taking place on that portion of Canyon Lake Drive North, resulting in the need to close the gate for a day.

As part of the Lodge Parking Lot Project, work on the Lodge ADA Ramp began last week. During construction, access will be limited to the most eastern rental dock. Construction will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will impede access through Wednesday.

The ADA ramp will make the docks accessible to all residents and will also create a walking path around the Lodge. The ramp is part of Phase 4, even though Phase 3 work continues in other parts of the Lodge parking lot.

The Canyon Lake POA said it reminds residents to use extra caution in these areas as there are trucks and equipment actively working throughout the parking lot. It advises residents to use the stairs down to Sunset Beach, if possible, to avoid the parking lot construction area.

The Senior Center parking lot is also scheduled to begin pavement work on Monday. All vehicles parked in this lot will need to be temporarily moved by Sunday. All vehicles may return on Tuesday. Motorcycles also must be moved from this parking lot until Thursday. There is additional motorcycle parking at the Eastport and the North Gate.

Eastport parking will be closed from Thursday through May 23 in order to repave a small area near the pickleball courts.
