CL Library permitting patrons to keep books

The Canyon Lake Library is reminding its patrons to go ahead and hang onto the books they’ve checked out and to not worry about late fees during the COVID-19 lockdown.

These checked out books won’t be due until the library reopens after the stay at home orders are lifted.

“We look forward to welcoming you back,” the notice sent out to its patrons reads. “And will receive your library books at that time…fine free!” Book drops are also not accessible until the library reopens.

Meanwhile, the library wants to remind library members that check out eBooks, eAudiobooks and more on its Riverside County Library System website.

“Our website is available at this time though we are closed,” the note said. “There are many good programs available in E-resources, like books to download for children and adults, games to play and much more.”

Library cards can be obtained on the website by registering and receiving instant access to a new digital library card.
