In Memoriam: Thomas John Nagle

Tom Nagle

Thomas John Nagle (1944-2020), beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at the age of 76.  He was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, then moved to California in 1967 and remained a dedicated Wolverine fan. He received his MBA from UCLA.

He married Wilma “Willie” Ann in 1967 and they were partners for life, married for over 52 years. They resided in Canyon Lake since 1977 where Tom served as the mayor of The City of Canyon Lake, as well as a city councilman. He also was the president of the Canyon Lake Home Owners Association.

Tom retired after a lengthy and successful career in engineering, working for McDonnell Douglas, TRW, Boeing and the FAA. Significant projects of his included aircraft cabin air quality and GPS.

Tom had a passion for many hobbies. He was a Corvette enthusiast, an avid tournament water skier and a pilot. Tom enjoyed being a longtime member of the Canyon Lake Water Ski Club, as well as the club’s president. He was a charter member of the Corvettes of Temecula Valley. Tom was also a member of Vette Set and Aquia Creek Corvette Clubs.

Tom and Willie raised two girls, Brandy and Jamie. Tom spent many years coaching them in soccer and fostering in them a love of water skiing.

Tom was preceded in death by his daughter Jamie Marie Nagle and is survived by his wife Wilma, daughter Brandy, son-in-law, and grandchildren Maddie and Jake.
