EVMWD lake lease litigation about to wrap up

The Lake Lease litigation is wrapping up, according to the Canyon Lake POA’s website. As of Jan. 29, lakefront owners received email notification of the Class Action Notice in the pending CLPOA vs. EVMWD litigation (RIC 1503428), and a hard copy is in the mail, the Canyon Lake POA said.

This marks what may be the final countdown to the close of Canyon Lake POA’s litigation with EVMWD, pending the Court’s final approval hearing on March 10. This non-monetary Class Action Notice describes the process lakefront members can take to either exclude themselves from the Class Settlement, if they wish, or object to the Class Settlement, if they wish.

Members who are not directly adjacent to the Canyon Lake reservoir did not receive a notice and would not be part of the Class Settlement.

All members are welcome to view court filings, at no cost, and to read more information about the Lake Lease settlement, this Class Settlement and the Joint Statement of CLPOA and EVMWD on Canyon Lake POA’s Lake Lease website www.canyonlakepoa.com/372/Lake-Lease. This website link is accessible by only Canyon Lake POA members who have created an account on the website and completed the Member Authorization Form.

Debby Gagnon named Fiesta Day Grand Marshal

The Fiesta Day Committee is proud to present the Grand Marshal title to Debby Gagnon, the long-time owner of Pack, Wrap and Post in the Town Center.

“Part of why I fell in love with Canyon Lake is because we are Small Town USA,” Debby said. “You can get involved in this community and, if you want to put in the time, you can make a difference.”

And that is what Debby has done – as a resident, as a business owner and as an organizer of numerous community events. She has lived in Canyon Lake since 1986.

At least twice she has been named “Volunteer of the Year” (2009 and 2012) by the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce.
