CL students raising funds to build Sudan well

Canyon Lake Middle Schools are walking in hopes community members will donate funds so South Sudan villagers will be able to walk less.

These villagers, consisting of children and adults, walk up to eight hours daily to obtain water for their families. Despite the long walk, the water they acquire isn’t healthy. The water is contaminated by parasites and bacteria, which can lead to sickness and death.

This Canyon Lake Middle School PLUS program fundraiser will help build a well in South Sudan, giving 1,000 people access to clean water right in their own village.

The PLUS (Peer Leaders Uniting Students) team is hosting a walk fundraiser to raise money to build the well. The team’s goal is $4,000 and it is asking community members to donate by going to https://www.classy.org/team/269611. The entire 100 percent of the donations go straight to building the well.
