Intent to Run Packets available

Canyon Lake POA members interested in running for the Board of Directors may pick up Intent to Run Packets at the Canyon Lake POA’s Corporate office. Two of the five seats on the Board will be up for election in May 2020.

Intent to Run Forms must be completed and returned to the Canyon Lake POA Corporate office no later than 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 12.

L.A. Guns coming to Canyon Lake

The Concerts at the Lodge series will continue with its next concert on April 25 featuring the 1980s metal sensation, L.A. Guns. L.A. Guns was formed in 1983 by guitar player Tracii Guns and, then unknown singer, Axl Rose on lead vocals. The team of Guns and, former Girl singer, Phil Lewis have sold 6 1/2 million records, including 1988’s L.A. Guns and 1990’s Cocked and Loaded, both of which were certified Gold.

The current lineup features founding member, and lead guitar player, Guns, who has reunited with Lewis on vocals, along with Shane Fitzgibbon on drums, Johnny Martin on bass and Ace Von Johnson on guitar.

Fiesta Day planning is in full swing. This year’s theme is “Fiesta Day Celebrates Lake Life” in recognition of all the things we enjoy living in a lake community. The Fiesta Day Committee is currently accepting sponsorship, booth, and parade applications and there is early pricing until March 1.

Crosby Stills Nash & Young Tribute Concert

The Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild is bringing a musical journey to Canyon Lake with CSN Express, an impressive Crosby Stills Nash & Young tribute group. This event is on Saturday, March 28 at 7 p.m. at the Canyon Lake Lodge. Tickets are still available and may be purchased online.

Pavement project update: Lodge parking lot

Lots of work is happening this week in the Lodge parking lot! Demolition of old materials is complete, and the crew is in the process of adding sidewalks, curbs, retaining walls in the Phase 1 area. Phase 1 is on track to be completed by March 6. As a reminder, the Lodge parking lots are being split into phases with the goal of keeping portions of the parking lot open at all times.

Member volunteers sought for committees

Want to be involved in the community? Join one of the Canyon Lake POA committees. Committees play an essential role in assisting the Canyon Lake POA with a variety of functions and duties. Each committee is led by member volunteers and has a specific purpose within our community. There are currently vacancies on several committees.

Pool deck remodel almost complete

The 20-year-old pool at the Lodge is being renovated. This week, coping was poured and drainage was added. The project is on track to be completed for the pool’s opening in mid-March.
