Canyon Lake holds many hidden treasures. These treasures are often like a diamond in the rough. At the end of Red Lure sits a home that is a sanctuary nestled by breathtaking views of the lake. Art and Jill Femister own this property which boasts a stunning view of the entire East Bay.

Art and Jill moved to Canyon Lake from Corona. They spent one and a half years looking for the perfect home in Canyon Lake and they rejoice at finding it.

“The moment we stepped in and saw the wide-open view from one end of the main channel to the other, we knew this was a special home,” Art said.

The 1975 turn-key home has 2,275 square feet with 3 bedrooms, 1 guest bathroom and a full master suite with a master bath that features a jacuzzi tub and yet another window with a lake view. The master bedroom is also framed by large picture windows. Other than the two guest rooms, every room in the house holds the lake in full view. Even in the kitchen there are views.

Upon walking through the foyer, the one entering is mesmerized by the wide-open picturesque lake view. Stepping down to the great room also makes one notice the decadent dark bamboo that covers the entire flooring of the Femister home. The large windows along the back of the house lend a prestigious and unobstructed view of the lake. A stretch of the lake can be seen that spans from Diamond Point Park to Indian Beach.

One of Art’s favorite features in the home is the surround sound. There are 14 built-in theatre quality speakers. Each room, including the master bath and garage, all have its own control system.

Conveniently located right outside the kitchen is the outdoor BBQ ready to fire up for some fun and tasty entertainment.

The upper deck has luxurious patio furniture under an umbrella as well as a hot tub where those soaking can enjoy the sweeping view of the East Bay. Down the stairway from the upper deck is a mid-level deck where a table sits in a more intimate setting. At the bottom of the steps is an area with a picnic table and bench seating.

Although Art and Jill have been working with an Interior Designer for ideas to bring in a more current and nautical feel to their home, the Femister’s home came with more than they expected. Art said the previous owners seemed to think of just about everything to make life a little bit sweeter. It’s these little extras that help make the house so useful and fun, he said. There is the added golf cart garage, for example. An electrical outlet was designed to hold all additional extensions for plug ins (Christmas lights). The kitchen even has a dishwasher that is not at ground level, but lifted, so no bending is needed while doing dishes.

Art and Jill have been married for 30 years. They own and manage a software development company specializing in niche applications for law enforcement and other public agencies. They have clients across the nation and Canada. Art is actively involved as a specialized volunteer for a major Southern California police agency that works with a team of homicide detectives to develop one of the largest digital homicide libraries in the nation.

The Femister’s recently celebrated the arrival of their second grandchild and love the memories they already have with them at their sanctuary home on the lake, Art said.
