‘After Lunch Bunch’ holds weekly golf matches

Twenty-four of Canyon Lake’s After Lunch Bunch members signed up for its weekly game, with the foursome of Clive Taylor, Tom Fuhrman, Leroy Madera and Ed Doidge winning with a score of 187. The second place foursome consisted of Mike Pinto, Bob Stenson, Jim Paulis and Chuck Hudson. They shot a 199.

In the weekly “Skins” competition there were seven winners: Oscar Rowland on holes number 5 and 12, Mike Pinto on number 6, Jim Paulis on number 8, Leroy Madera on holes 11 and 16, Clive Taylor on number 14, Nick Valencia on number 15, and Tom Fuhrman on number 17.

“Closest to the Pin” awards went to Harland Newby for his shot on hole number 2, and to Oscar Rowland for his on hole number 15.

The “After Lunch Bunch” is continually looking for new members. The game is open to all Canyon Lakers who have an established handicap. The entry fee is $5.00 and there is always an optional 27 maximum “Skins” game for an additional $5.00. Entries are taken between 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. in the Magnolia Room or over the phone at 951-249-4565.

The format for next week will be Partner’s Best Ball and players may pick their own foursomes. In the event a player signs up as a single, the club will place him in one of the foursomes.
