Canyon Lake City Council recognizes Ana Sauseda

City of Canyon Lake Deputy City Clerk Ana Sauseda was recognized by the City Council on Jan. 15 for recently obtaining the designation of certified municipal clerk.

The Certified Municipal Clerk program is designed to enhance the job performance of the clerk in small and large municipalities. To earn the CMC designation, a municipal clerk must attend extensive education programs. The CMC designation also requires pertinent experience in a municipality.

The CMC program prepares the applicants to meet the challenges of the complex role of the municipal clerk by providing them with quality education in partnership with institutions of higher learning, as well as state and national associations.

There is a requirement to obtain certification of 110 points in a combination of education and experience which is equivalent to 600 educational hours.

Ana also completed a certificate program through the University of California, Riverside which recognizes her as a California professional municipal clerk.

“I’m so blessed to work for the City of Canyon Lake,” said Ana. “The support I have received from the City Council, city manager and the administrative services manager has been nothing short of amazing. I’m so thankful for each and every one of them and I look forward to serving the City Council and this community as the official city clerk one day.”
