Canyon Laker reenlists in U.S. Navy a second time

Canyon Laker Adam McNaughton reenlisted for the second time in the U.S. Navy on Dec. 27 during a reenlisted ceremony on board the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier in San Diego. Surrounded by his wife, family and coworkers, Adam was sworn in by Production Officer Lieutenant Caluza. His current enlistment will end in 2025.

“I’m proud to continue my naval career,” Adam said.

Since his first enlistment on Apr. 4, 2011, Adam has spent 732 days at sea. He serves as a petty officer first class and is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the nuclear power plants on aircraft carriers. Adam is currently stationed at the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center in San Diego. He will receive his next set of orders in 2021.

Adam, a Canyon Lake resident since 2004, is the son of Kellie Welty of Canyon Lake and Todd McNaughton of Hemet, and the stepson of POA President Dale Welty. Adam and his wife Harmony are expecting their first child, a girl, in March. “I’m excited for my growing family,” he said.
