RFID transponders will soon be mandatory

The POA is moving forward with mandatory RFID transponders for residents. When a 2020 window decal expires, a new one will not be issued. Instead, the POA will issue a permanent numbered parking decal and an RFID transponder. Residents who already have a transponder will be issued a permanent parking decal when their 2020 decal expires.

Starting Jan. 13, residents entering the north gate without an RFID transponder will be required to use the guest lane. Vehicle decals will no longer be accepted for access.

This change will occur at the east gate starting Feb. 17 and the main gate starting Mar. 16.

The first lane at the main and east gate will be designated for guests and residents without an RFID transponder or POA card. The second lane will be designated for residents with an RFID transponder, a POA Card and returning guests with a pass. The third lane will be designated for residents with RFID transponders.

RFID transponders are free for residents. Residents must bring their golf cart or vehicle that needs an RFID transponder to the POA office along with a current registration and photo identification, such as a POA card or driver’s license.

A staff member will apply the transponder to the vehicle.
