Feel the ‘thrill of the chill’ on Polar Bear Day

Canyon Lakers of all ages are invited to grab a wakeboard, waterski, show ski, wakeskate, swivel ski, hydrofoil, trick ski, or even go barefoot and head over to Sunset Beach on Saturday, Jan. 4, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. for Canyon Lake’s annual Polar Bear Day. Boats and crews will be provided.

Participants who dare to “feel the thrill of the chill” are challenged to do so wearing only swimsuits and ski vests.

This is a free event and pre-registration is not required. Every participant will receive an official Polar Bear T-shirt and will be treated to a warm fire, barbecue and hot drinks after their rides.

Residents who choose not to participate are encouraged to cheer on the “polar bears” from Sunset Beach, lakefront homes and decks.
