Rain doesn’t deter 9th annual Golf Cart Parade

The 9th annual Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive was held on Sunday, Dec. 8, sponsored by the Street Carts of Canyon Lake and organized by club President Mike Shroyer.

Despite the inclement weather, more than 75 carts participated in the parade and thousands of spectators lined the parade route to cheer on the decorative carts as they passed by.

Canyon Lake Fire Station 60 led the procession down Canyon Lake Drive to East Port Park where the Elsinore High School marching band greeted participants with holiday music as they arrived. The POA passed out free cookies and 15 gallons of hot chocolate. The Lighthouse Restaurant offered hot dogs and chili for purchase.

According to Mike, there was a shortage on the number of toys donated this year. Mike has set up a toy donation box at the lodge for those who would like to donate a toy.
