Lieutenant presents October crime stats

Lieutenant Matt Sims of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department provided the crime stats for the month of October during the December City Council meeting.

There were 480 calls, an increase of 59 from the previous month. There were six Part 1 crimes.

There was one burglary. A robbery also occurred in the city; however, the suspect and victim are not residents of Canyon Lake.

There were two domestic-violence related assaults and two larceny thefts. The thefts include cash stolen off a dresser, the suspect is known to the victim, and a thermostat stolen from a boat.

There were 21 traffic/parking citations, one public intoxication arrest, one DUI arrest and one traffic collision.
