For the second year, the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club and Travel Club are teaming up to “ring the bell” to raise money for The Salvation Army. The clubs collected $1,328.54 last year.

The Salvation Army’s red kettle will be set up in front of Pack, Wrap and Post in the Towne Center. Club volunteers will be “ringing the bell” Dec. 2 to Dec. 21, excluding weekends, from 12 to 4 p.m.

All the money collected stays local and supports The Salvation Army programs.

The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign has been a Christmas tradition since 1891. Salvation Army Captain Joseph McFee set out a kettle to raise funds to feed the hungry in San Francisco. Now, The Salvation Army’s red kettles can be found all over the world.
