Quarter Mania returns to the lodge this Sunday

Quarter Mania returns to the lodge this Sunday, Nov. 24, from 12 to 4 p.m. Doors open at noon for check-in and vendor shopping. The auction starts at 1 p.m.

Hosted by the Family Matters Club, Quarter Mania is a cross between an auction and a raffle where participants use numbered paddles and bid quarters to win prizes.

How does a Quarter Mania work? In short, numbered paddles are purchased to gain entry to the event. The auctioneer will display an item and state the number of quarters needed for a chance to win that particular item. The guests who want to bid on the item put the specified number of quarters into the bucket on the table. A random numbered ball is pulled from a container. The bidder holding the paddle that matches the number on the ball wins the item. Once there is a winner, all balls are placed back in the container for the next item to be auctioned.

There will be two rounds. Round one items have an estimated value of $50 or higher and cost three quarters to bid on. Round two items have an estimated value of $30 or higher and cost two quarters to bid on.

Bidders can increase their chances of winning by purchasing an additional paddle for $5. There is a three paddle limit per person. If more than one paddle is used per round, the bidder must bid a quarter for each paddle used.

Pre-sale General Admission tickets cost $20; $25 at the door. General Admission ticket holders are required to bring their own quarters to bid on items.

Pre-sale VIP tickets cost $40; $45 at the door. VIP ticket holders do not need to bring quarters to bid on items, they are automatically entered into all rounds of bidding. VIP ticket holders will also receive unlimited trips to the snack bar.

Tickets may be purchased at the POA office, online at familymattersclub.org, or by calling Donna Lovejoy at 951-970-6628. All pre-sale ticket holders will receive a goody bag and event program.

Space is limited to 100 bidders. Children under the age of 10 are not permitted at this event. Children ages 10 and older may participate if they have their own ticket. Seats are reserved for ticket holders.
