Cars will roar into CL on Saturday

Hundreds of custom and classic cars sporting shiny reds, yellows and blues will roar into Canyon Lake and onto the lodge grounds on Saturday for Canyon Lake’s 14th annual Car Show.

Sponsored by the Canyon Lake Car Club and the POA, the Car Show is one of Canyon Lake’s biggest events of the year, featuring hundreds of pre-1977 classic and custom vehicles, awards, music, more than 30 food and merchandise vendors, a silent auction, prize drawings and a ShowCal Ski Show on the main lake.

The lodge will be open for breakfast and lunch and will be offering pizza and adult beverages at the outside bar.

Gates open at 9 a.m. Judging is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a ShowCal Ski Show on the main lake at 12 p.m., raffles and a 50/50 drawing at 1:30 p.m. and awards presentation at 2 p.m.

Cars are judged by peers, industry professionals, Canyon Lake POA staff and city staff. More than 25 trophies will be presented.

Owners of pre-1977 vehicles are welcome to participate. Participants do not need to be a resident of Canyon Lake or a member of the Canyon Lake Car Club. Registration is $30. Registration forms can be found on the Car Club website at canyonlakecarclub.com.

As a nonprofit organization, the Canyon Lake Car Show donates all proceeds to various groups and causes. Past recipients include Canyon Lake Emergency Preparedness Committee, Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce, Santa Rosa Academy, Canyon Lake Little League, Menifee Youth Foundation, Lamb’s Fellowship and Helping Our People of Elsinore, to name a few.
