Greene appointed to Canyon Lake City Council

Larry Greene was sworn into office by his daughter Terri Geissinger on Wednesday during a brief ceremony at the Special Meeting of the City Council. Greene will serve the remainder of the term, ending in December 2020.

Greene resigned from his position as mayor and a member of the Canyon Lake City Council on Aug. 20 to care for his wife, who has since passed away.

Residents who were interested in applying for the vacant seat were provided an opportunity to submit an application packet on or before Sept. 26. Several individuals expressed interest in the vacancy and were given and/or submitted an application; however, due to Greene’s intent to return to the City Council, all withdrew or did not submit their applications.
