Sponsors needed for annual Mermaid Festival

Planning is underway for the 5th annual Mermaid Festival on Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Indian Beach. Sponsored by the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club, this community-wide event features food, contests, vendors, opportunity drawings, grand prizes, Mermaid Grotto, Pirate Cove and the ever-popular Cardboard Boat Challenge.

Sponsorships and vendors are crucial to the success of the event. Sponsors are needed for the Mermaid Grotto, contests and Card Board Boat Challenge.

Sponsorships

The sponsorship levels are as follows:

Seahorse (2nd place contest sponsor) $25: Second place prizes for the Little Mermaid, Little Pirate, Most Glamorous Mermaid and Knobble Knees competitions. The sponsor’s name or business will appear on the stage and be announced when the contest winners are announced.

Angel Fish (1st place contest sponsor) $50: First place prizes for the Little Mermaid, Little Pirate, Most Glamorous Mermaid and Knobble Knees competitions and 1st place Judges Choice and Best Dressed Cardboard Boat competitions. The sponsor’s name will appear on the stage and be announced when the winners are announced and throughout the day.

Marlin (1st place Fastest Boat-Youth sponsor) $75: The sponsor’s name will appear on the stage and will be announced when the winner is announced and several times throughout the day.

Dolphin (1st place Fastest Boat sponsor) $100: The sponsor’s name will appear on the stage and will be announced when the winner is announced and several times during the day. The sponsor’s name will also be posted on the club’s website and Facebook page.

Giant Octopus (Pirate Cove sponsor) $250: The sponsor’s name will appear on the stage, at the Pirate Cove, on the Pirate Cove Banner and will be announced several times throughout the day. The sponsor’s name will also be posted on the club’s website and Facebook page.

Great White (King Neptune sponsor) $500: The sponsor’s name will appear prominently on the stage, will appear on the Grotto banner and will be announced with Grotto opening times and several times throughout the day. The sponsor’s name will also be posted on the club’s website and Facebook page.

Blue Whale (Mermaid Grotto sponsor) $1,000: The sponsor’s name will appear prominently on the stage, will appear on the Grotto banner and will be announced with Grotto opening times and several times throughout the day. The sponsor’s name will also be posted on the club’s website and Facebook page.

Vendors

Vendors, especially those who specialize in beach or nautical merchandise with a mermaid or pirate angle, are needed. Vendor spaces are $40.

Found in 1972,  the Woman’s Club is a non-profit, non-partisan, philanthropic organization. Since 1995, the club has awarded more than $300,000 to local organizations and to Canyon Lake students in the form of scholarships.
