Adopt-a-Pet: Alfie and Jewel

Alfie is a three-year-old shepherd mix looking for a loving home to call his own. According to his caretakers, Alfie is smart, playful, crate trained, potty trained and knows commands like sit, stay, high five and big paw.

Alfie is great with dogs big and small and good with kittens. He loves going to the dog park, swimming, hiking and burning up all the energy that he has so much of. He is neutered and ready to be adopted. His intake number is 425210. Reference picture: Alfie.

Jewel is two-month-old kitty hoping to find a “fur”ever home. Her caretakers said she is sweet and loving. She would love a family of her own to cuddle with. Her intake number is 470457. Reference picture: Jewel.

All dog and cat adoption fees include a microchip, basic shelter vaccines (excluding rabies) and a free veterinarian check-up. All cats/kittens, pit bulls and Chihuahua adoptions are just $5 (spay/neuter fees, if applicable, are additional).

For adoption or fostering, contact Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV) at 951-674-0618. The shelter is located at 33751 Mission Trail in Wildomar. Hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shelter offers animals for adoption as well as providing animal control and spay/neuter services. Low cost vaccinations and $20 microchipping are available seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at AFV’s Low Cost Spay/ Neuter Clinic at 29001 Bastron Ave., Lake Elsinore. Walk-ins are welcome.
