EVMWD recognized with prestigious honors

Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) was recently recognized with two prestigious statewide honors at the 2019 California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) Excellence in Public Information Communications Awards.

EVMWD received the highest honor, the EPIC, for its re-launch of its Instagram social media platform, which focuses on water efficiency as a California lifestyle, through simple and effective water-wise choices outdoors. EVMWD was also given an Award of Distinction for its Variable Sewer Outreach Plan, which effectively communicated the change in the sewer rate structure for EVMWD customers.

“We are proud to be honored amongst communication professionals from across the state,” said Andy Morris, president of the EVMWD Board of Directors. “Both awards highlight EVMWD’s dedication to keeping our customers informed and engaged.”

CAPIO is an organization of public communication professionals across California working to keep the public informed and connected to government. This year, a record number of competitive entries were received from across the state.
