The POA board elections are upon us and it is important to learn as much as we can about where the candidates stand on issues to make an informed decision on how to vote.

The 6th annual Speak to the Candidates event will be held on Apr. 8 at the lodge and provides an opportunity for homeowners to directly ask questions of the candidates. You will hear their responses first hand.

This is a community sponsored event hosted by 27 Canyon Lake clubs. The weekly questions and responses in The Friday Flyer are helpful but they don’t provide an opportunity to hear first-hand from the candidates and their “written” responses can be misinterpreted. Speak to the Candidates provides a great forum for both the residents and voters in Canyon Lake and the candidates to interface one-on-one. I have personally attended this event every year and have always felt it made me a more informed voter.

I encourage you to attend Speak to the Candidates on Monday, Apr. 8, at 7 p.m. at the lodge to participate and hear in person from those whose decisions during the next year will impact our lives in Canyon Lake. I look forward to seeing you this coming Monday, Apr. 8, at the lodge.
