The POA Board of Directors approved $74,360 from the Capital Improvement Fund 05-670 for the purchase of 11 LED entry/exit signs and the cost of permits, a network switch and installation.

Every month approximately 350,000 vehicles enter through Canyon Lake’s three entry gates. The gates are prone to back-ups as traffic patterns change with the daily rush hour, the season, special events and the holidays.

In order to better manage these fluctuations and to clearly communicate proper lane designations to drivers, the POA plans to install LED signs over each entrance lane.

At the main gate and east gate exit lanes and the north gate entry lane, there are banner stands that the POA and clubs use to communicate upcoming events, board meetings, etc.

This older banner style system will be replaced with a new, high resolution LED sign at each of these locations.

The banner stand on the median on Canyon Lake Drive South will not be replaced at this time.

Each entry and exit lane sign will be single-faced and include wireless communications, Cloud-based software with programmable schedules, capability of displaying text, animation and video, 160-degree viewing angle and adjustable brightness. The signs are also weatherproof.

The signs are guaranteed FCC compliant and come with a seven-year parts and on-site labor warranty.

The POA is purchasing the signs from Affiliated Resources at a cost of $63,700. Permits, a 24-port network switch and installation will cost an additional $10,660, for a total project cost of $74,360.
