POA reduces cost of RFID transponders

Photo provided by CLPOA

The POA reduced the cost of the Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) vehicle transponders from $20 to $10 to encourage more residents to utilize this technology as the POA works towards equipping all three community entrances with this feature for increased security and expedited entry. The reduction is for a limited time only and expires at the end of the year.

Residents with transponders may use the RFID lanes at the main and east gates. The north gate is not yet equipped with the RFID technology. Members who wish to purchase a RFID sticker will need to bring their vehicle to the POA office along with the following items:

Current vehicle registration (must be registered to a community member)

Photo identification (POA card or driver’s license)

Payment of $10.00 per transponder (no cash)

Once purchased, the POA will install the transponder on the vehicle. Members who do not bring the vehicle to the office cannot be issued a transponder.

The RFID transponder does not have to be replaced on an annual basis. However, members must provide annual registration to reactivate the transponder.
