‘Ball Drop’ set for tomorrow on the golf course

One lucky person is going to win a cash prize in the chamber’s first annual Ball Drop tomorrow, May 20. Those who wish to participate have until 12 p.m. on Saturday to purchase a golf ball number from Pack, Wrap and Post in the Towne Center or the Golf Pro Shop at the Canyon Lake Country Club.

How does the Ball Drop work? Golf ball “numbers” are purchased for $10 each. Each ball purchaser provides their contact information and gets one number per golf ball; not the actual ball.

Using a mechanical lift, the hopper filled with the numbered golf balls will be lifted and dropped all at once over a hole on the golf course. The purchaser of the numbered ball that lands in the bottom of the cup will receive half the money collected from the Ball Drop sales.

The Ball Drop will take place after the chamber’s golf tournament tomorrow between 5 and 6 p.m.

Participants do not have to enter the tournament to participate in the Ball Drop and winner need not be present to win. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Canyon Lake Jr. Golf Program.
