David Nickel purchased his home in Canyon Lake in 2004 and became a permanent resident in 2009. He’s been an active volunteer in the Tuesday Work Group (TWG) since 2017. He’s been serving as the chairman for the past three years.

The concept of this volunteer work group started more than 35 years ago at the golf course. Over the years, many projects have been completed by TWG, which has enhanced the golf course and saved the POA thousands of dollars.

David works with the TWG cement group, paving golf cart paths as well as other areas of the golf course where cement is needed. He recently worked on laying the pads for the 13 new benches installed at the golf course.

In addition to his work in the group, he’s represented TWG in the Fiesta Day parade twice.

David has been a member of the Roadrunners Club since 2012 and, for the past five years, a member of the Men’s Golf Club and the Canyon Lake Association of Men (CLAMS). CLAMS does philanthropic work in Canyon Lake and provides scholarships to Canyon Lake high school students. The organization has been in existence for 43 years.

David also served as a member of the former Lake and Marina Committee.
