Car Club members win at Menifee car show

Several of the Canyon Lake Car Club members came away with awards on Sunday, April 23, at the Heartbeat Happening Classic Car Show at Bates Nut Farm in Center Valley, California.

“Seven of the 12 cars from Canyon Lake won awards,” said Joe Landin, President of the Canyon Lake Car Club.

“Canyon Lake was well represented in both the number of cars and number of awards won,” said Donna Lovejoy whose husband Perry Beggs won a “People’s Choice” award.

The car show, organized by Heartbeat Classics, featured hundreds of 1975 and older cars, as well as big rig tractors. This show was held in conjunction with the Spring Festival Arts, Crafts and Vintage Market. “The craft market featured items and unusual crafts, which made it a fun shopping trip for the wives,” said Donna.

Members of the Car Club will be representing Canyon Lake again this Saturday, April 29, at the fifth annual Big Barn Car Show at the Motte Historical Car Museum, 28380 Highway 74, Menifee. The Car Club members invite Canyon Lake residents to come out and enjoy the Motte Historical Museum, vendor shopping and display of classic cars. For more information, visit mottemuseum.com.

The Canyon Lake Car holds monthly meetings on the first Thursday of the month in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Anyone owning a pre-1973 vehicle is welcomed. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the general meeting at 6:30 p.m. At the meeting members learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences. Finger foods are served and a 50/50 drawing rounds out the evening.
