Women’s Golf ‘Funny Valentine’ winners announced

The Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club held its annual Valentine tournament this past Tuesday with 60 participants. The theme was fashioned after Frank Sinatra, his music (“My Funny Valentine”) and some of his special recipes. The life-size cutout of Frank Sinatra provided a backdrop where each group could have their picture taken with the star.

Spokesperson Linda Kamashian says the other star of the day was Golf Pro Pat Kemball, who hit drives on the 12th hole for each group. The format was a four-person scramble and the winners were as follows:

A Flight Gross: Donna Nunes, Pat Spencer, Maxine Whalen and Marlene Cathro.

1st place Net: Mimi LaRosa, Ura Furry, Lou DeYoung and Ina Pickard.

2nd place Net, Marilyn Bridges, Cheryl Ritzema, Cathy Barr and Marina Stinson.

B Flight Gross: Kay Arth, Anita Fairfield, Linda Hudson and Gail McCall.

1st place Net: Linda Johnson, Linda Kamashian, Anne Norris and Carol Newsom.

2nd place Net: Ellie Clow, Dawn Haggerty, Linda Helmer and Babette Stubbs.

C Flight Gross: Rose Hanover, Jan McNeil, Isabell Brack and Carol Paulis.

1st place Net: Rose Marie Hand, Barbara Albrecht, Dorothy Washle and Lavern Cann.

2nd place Net: Clair Bond, Bonnie Harlow, Sue Hoover and Darlene Cortez.
