Letter: Response to Letter

This is in response to the letter in last week’s issue about “Unnecessary Help.”

As someone who has had asthma attacks, I know how serious this can be. The fact that she dialed 911 (or any number for emergency resources) for help and is complaining that too many resources responded seems baffling to me.  If this was NOT a true emergency, why call for emergency help?

Her request for help only confirms the fact that Canyon Lake needs fire department resources. If Engine 60 and the ambulance had been tied up on another incident, help for her and her emergency could have been 20 minutes away. We should all be thankful for the fire department and what they do, and more importantly, what they are willing to do for us.
