Woman’s Club

The next luncheon meeting will be on Wednesday, May 20, at 10 a.m. at the Lodge. Social hour with vendors begins at 9 a.m. Vendors may contact Terri Ireland at 951-246-2571.

The menu is Oriental chicken salad, fresh baked bread, chef’s choice dessert and iced tea, hot tea and coffee. To make reservations, contact Vicki Young at 951-246-9846 or CLWClunch@gmail.com.

The program will be “Get Your Cowgirl On,”  so get ready to dance. Instructors from the Stampede will teach basics and beyond. This is to prepare the club for its last fundraiser, which will be at the Stampede in Old Town Temecula on June 5, at 11 a.m. Reservations for the Stampede will be taken at the meeting or by calling Lyne Hall 951-244-2101. Cost is $25 and includes a buffet lunch, line dancing and professional line dance instruction.

The club meets the third Wednesday of each month at the Lodge. It is a philanthropic organization dedicated to helping others in the community. Ski Club

The Canyon Lake Ski Club will be hosting its first USA Water Ski sanctioned 3-event tournament of 2015 this weekend, May 16 and 17. There will be slalom skiing at the North Ski Area in the morning on May 16, followed by the jump event in the afternoon at the Jump Lagoon.

Slalom skiing returns to the North Ski Area on Sunday morning, immediately followed by trick skiing. The tournament is open to any USA Water Ski member, and includes divisions for Boys, Girls, Men, Women, and even a Novice Skier group.

The Canyon Lake Ski Club began in 1970 and is the largest 3-event USA Water Ski sanctioned club in the United States. Members of all ages and skill levels participate in slalom, trick, and jump skiing at both the North Ski Area and Jump Lagoon year round.

With many Regional and National champions in its membership, improving individual skills through coaching and development is an ongoing routine for the club. For membership and general information, visit www.canyonlakeskiclub.com.

Pinochle Club

New members are welcome to join the Pinochle Club, which plays every Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Senior Center. For more information, call Marlys Shilling at 951-244-4241.

Kids Club

Kids Club meetings are held every Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., in the Sunset Beach Room at the Lodge.

Kids Club is a program in which young children and their parents or grandparents enjoy a morning of crafts, music, exercise, games, sports and a snack for just $2 per session. Buy a 10-class punch card and get two classes free. Check the Canyon Lake Kids Club Facebook page for details.

Canyon Lake Association of Men

The CLAMS will have a monthly dinner meeting on Wednesday, May 20, at the Country Club. The no host bar opens at 5:30 p.m.; pulled pork dinner begins at 6. There will be activities after dinner for those who wish to participate. The club welcomes new members.

CLAMS will have its annual booth of bratwurst and hot dogs at Fiesta Day on Saturday, May 23.

The Canyon Lake Association of Men (CLAMS) is an organization that has been in existence for the men of Canyon Lake for the last 42 years. CLAMS welcomes men of all ages who would like to participate in activities promoting the Canyon Lake community. Dues are $25 per year. Family Matters Club

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. Meetings are held the first day of each month, unless otherwise noted, and revolve around a fun theme with speakers, games, prize drawings, crafts, snack and social time. Locations vary. The club puts on several events throughout the year to benefit the community, to raise funds for future events and to provide philanthropic donations. For more information, visit the Family Matters Facebook page or call 714-394-4885.

CLAWS

All Canyon Lake women are invited to attend the Canyon Lake Association of Women (CLAWS) group bunco on the second Wednesday of the month in the Magnolia Room, downstairs at the Country Club. The cost is $10 per player. Participants are asked to bring canned and packaged food for the community cupboard. Game begins at 3 p.m., please arrive 15 mins early to pick up game card and sign in. Bible Club

The Canyon Lake Bible Club is now meeting on Thursday evenings, at 7 p.m. at Canyon Lake Community Church, facilitated by Richard Cunha.

Travel Club

Del Mar Races is scheduled for Thursday, July 23. Bus will leave the Lodge at 10:45 a.m. First post is at 2 p.m. The cost is $39 for members and $44 for guests. Space is limited to 40, so make reservations early by contacting Cathy Buell at 951-244-4850.

“The Best of Eastern Canada” is planned for September 6 through October 5, 2015 for $2,295 per person, double occupancy. Airfare round trip is approximately $795. See Canada in all it’s autumn splendor. Stay in first class hotels and sightsee by deluxe motor coach. Cities visited will include Toronto, Ottawa, Niagara Falls, Montreal, Kingston and Quebec City, with interesting side trips and many meals included. The deposit was due April 1. Bosom Buddies

The Bosom Buddies mission is to educate, inspire and support newly diagnosed breast cancer patients during their breast cancer journey. Fitness and Triathlon Club

Car Club

The Car Club holds meetings the first Thursday of each month at the Lodge. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the general meeting at 6:30. Learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences. Finger foods will be served and a 50/50 drawing will round out the evening. Roadrunners

Roadrunners RV Club dinner meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month. Social hour begins at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6. Tennis Club

The Tennis Club invites residents to come out for Social Play on Mondays and Fridays at 8 a.m. It is open to all levels of players and is a way to meet other players without committing to a schedule. Yacht Club

Meetings of the Yacht Club are held on the fourth Thursday of the month at the Lodge. Boat ownership is not a criterion for membership. Members enjoy fun events throughout the year, including the Moonlight Cruise, Progressive Dinner, Lake Clean-Up and more. Twirler Square Dance Club

The Twirlers meet on Wednesday evenings in the Holiday Bay Room at the Lodge. There is a workshop for experienced dancers from 6:15 to 7 p.m. This is followed by the Twirlers Class from 7 to 9 p.m. with instructor Vic Kaarie. Former dancers are always welcome. Dress is casual. Water Ski Club

Residents interested in joining the Water Ski Club are invited to visit canyonlakeskiclub.com for membership forms, information and news about the club. The club is comprised of skiers of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced. In addition to having 365 days of access to one of the nicest slalom courses in the country, the club hosts several ski competitions and community events, including Breakfast with Santa, Polar Bear Day, Learn to Ski Days and the Fiesta Day Ski Show.
