POA Introduces Electric Bicycle Reward Program for Youth

In an effort to promote safe riding habits among the community‘s youth, the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association is rolling out a new reward program aimed at encouraging exemplary behavior among electric bicycle riders ages 18 and younger.

The initiative focuses on the importance of helmet use and situational awareness, addressing the growing popularity of electric bicycles in the community and the consequent need for increased safety measures. The Canyon Lake POA, in collaboration with the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce, the City of Canyon Lake, and community supporters, is dedicated to fostering a culture of responsibility and safety among young riders.

Community Patrol officers will distribute Safe Riding Vouchers to youths who demonstrate safe riding practices. These vouchers can be redeemed at the Canyon Lake POA Member Services offices for rewards.

Eligible for redemption once every three months, these vouchers are available only to those who have registered their electric bicycles with the POA.

“This program isn’t limited to just electric bicycle users; it encompasses all young residents who use two-wheeled transportation,” a POA representative said. “Whether they’re on BMX bikes, traditional bicycles, or enjoying the pump track at Vacation Park, we want to instill the significance of helmet use and situational awareness in all our young riders.”

For additional details on the reward program and guidelines for electric bicycle riding within Canyon Lake, residents are encouraged to visit the POA‘s website at www.clpoa.com/ebike. Through this initiative, the Canyon Lake POA aims to inspire young residents to prioritize safety while enjoying the benefits of two-wheeled transportation.
