CLMS Cheer dominates at State Championships

Canyon Lake Middle School‘s Competition Cheer Team made a stunning impact at the CHEERPROS California State Championship, securing both the State title and the Grand Champion title. The prestigious event, hosted at the Pasadena Convention Center on Jan. 27, showcased the team‘s exceptional talent and dedication.

Competing fiercely, the team triumphed in the Junior High Show Cheer Division and took first place. They didn‘t stop there; in the Junior High Show Stunt Group Novice Division and Advanced Division, they secured both first and second places.

The highlight of the event was being named Grand Champions, after achieving the highest scoring routine of the competition.

In recognition of their achievements, the team members received champion sweaters, t-shirts, medals, and banners to proudly display in the school’s gym. With this victory, the team now sets its sights on upcoming challenges, including the LEUSD Nationals Showcase on Monday and the USA Jr Nationals in Anaheim on Feb. 18.

The Canyon Lake Middle School Cheer Competition Team boasts members from Canyon Lake, including Railey Berry, Reese Marcuse, Courtney Medina, Mikaela Kivrizis, Summer Bristow, Ari Buffington, Bella Diamond, Irelynn Perry, Sadie Sakamoto, Linda Solis, Madison Thompson, Kileigh Wilcox, and Kyleigh Peter, along with additional members Emma Fisher, Kailey Martinez, Kali Stoltz, Maliyah Myers, Julia Flynn, Jayla Douglas, Natalie Gonzales, Sophia Lares, Gianna Almaraz, Lilie Ayala, Mikaela Burkes, Audrey Ferguson, Ella Golovich, Isabella Rodriguez, and Malia Shannon.

The team is coached by Tammy Howard and Kendall Howard.
