Lodge readies for Grand Re-Opening

The Canyon Lake Lodge’s Sunset Lounge & Terrace and Lighthouse Restaurant are set for a grand re-opening on Feb. 2. This event marks the culmination of extensive renovations to update the facility originally constructed in 2000.

After 23 years, the Canyon Lake Lodge has undergone significant refurbishments.

The renovations focused on modernizing the interior, which had many original, worn, and dated finishes. The bar area, last updated in 2014, has also received a fresh update.

An experienced design team was brought in to oversee these major projects, ensuring the Lodge’s restaurant and bar are revitalized after more than two decades of extensive use.

One of the most significant overhauls in the Lodge Renovation is the Sunset Lounge and Terrace. It was finished first and has been open to the public for several weeks. Photo provided by Canyon Lake Property Owners Association.

The Sunset Lounge & Terrace have already opened to the public, showcasing part of the comprehensive updates. The Sunset Lounge & Terrace and Lighthouse Restaurant renovations are nearly complete. Crews are working on final details and finishes in both areas. The final inspections have been completed.

The community is eagerly awaiting the full reveal of the renovated Lodge during the grand re-opening.

“We can’t wait for you to see the new Lodge,” the POA said.

Funding for this project was sourced from the Repair & Replacement Reserve fund.

The reserve study, available on the Financials page of the POA’s website, details every inventory component within the Lodge. This includes paint, flooring, carpeting, bar and bar equipment, furniture, light fixtures, and more, each with a designated life expectancy. The majority of these components had exceeded their expected lifespan, necessitating the renovation.

All-new furnishings have been installed at the Lighthouse Restaurant at the Canyon Lake Lodge. It has been closed while it was totally renovated and modernized. It reopens Feb. 2 when the CLPOA holds a Grand Re-Opening for the Lighthouse Restaurant and the Sunset Lounge and Terrace. Photos provided by Canyon Lake Property Owners Association.

“The Davis Stirling Act, which governs all HOAs, requires that we maintain a reserve study and healthy reserve funds,” the POA said. “Our boards have done a great job of this over the recent years, and the money for this project is already in the bank. The Davis Stirling Act also requires us to maintain all of our common area amenities.”

The POA said it considers the maintenance and updating of its common area amenities as one of its primary obligations.

“All of this helps maintain healthy property values here in Canyon Lake and helps modernize our aging 55-year-old community,” the POA said.

The Sunset Lounge and Terrace extend to the exterior of the Lodge. With its priceless lakefront views and ideal weather, the Terrace will dramatically expand the dining options of the Lodge. With the Lighthouse Restaurant closed after the Terrace opened, it served as the only restaurant facility at the Lodge.
