POA honors Yacht Club’s Ron Wilbur for exceptional leadership

The Canyon Lake Property Owners Association recognized Ron Wilbur, the outgoing Commodore of the Canyon Lake Yacht Club, as the POA’s Member of the Month for his remarkable contributions to the community. Under Ron’s leadership, the Yacht Club experienced a significant increase in membership, growing by an impressive 650%, bringing the total to over 400 members.

Ron‘s efforts were focused on promoting the Yacht Club as the “Best party on the water,” a message that resonated strongly with the Canyon Lake community. His dedication to enhancing the club‘s profile and activities was evident throughout his tenure.

The Yacht Club, under Ron‘s guidance, hosted 44 events this year, including several signature events that have become highlights of the Canyon Lake community calendar. Notable among these were the Blessing of the Boats, the first-ever Commodores Ball, and the Parade of Lights led by the iconic Green Dragon. These events not only brought the community together, but also showcased the club‘s vibrant spirit.

The growth and success of the club are a testament to Ron‘s commitment and the support he received from his wife and the Yacht Club Board. The variety of events, ranging from moonlit cruises, lake cruises followed by potlucks and swimming, to picnics in the parks, truly made the Yacht Club one of the centers of social and recreational activity in Canyon Lake.
