200 residents enjoy Donuts with Santa at Fire Station 1

The Canyon Lake Fire Department is celebrating the success of its Donuts with Santa event, which was held Saturday and drew nearly 200 residents. The event, filled with festive cheer and community spirit, exceeded all expectations, fire department officials said.

Attendees enjoyed a hot cocoa bar with various toppings like marshmallows, whipped cream, and candy canes. Adults had the option of coffee with cream, catering to tastes of all ages. A selection of Krispy Kreme donuts, including items from the Elf Collection and the ever-popular original glazed, were offered free of charge.

Children were engaged in numerous activities and crafts provided by Home Depot. They had the chance to build toolboxes, planters, and hot air balloons, while younger children enjoyed paint projects, allowing them to express their creativity.

The highlight of the event was the appearance of Santa Claus, who had an amazing likeness to John Grande, President of the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce.

“John brought the character to life as he embodied the true Christmas spirit, bringing joy to all families and attendees,” Fire Department Chief Jeff LaTendresse said.

The event also served as an opportunity for the community to contribute to the Fire Department’s Spark of Love Toy Drive. The donations received were substantial and will be distributed to children in need leading up to Christmas.

The Canyon Lake Fire Department extends its sincere thanks to Home Depot and John for their contributions to the event’s success. The department also appreciates the support and participation of the community, which played a crucial role in making the inaugural Donuts with Santa event a success.
