CLPOA honors community members

Three community members were honored for their significant contributions to Canyon Lake during last week’s Canyon Lake Property Owners Association meeting.  Bonnie Dubbs, Doug Schultz, and Renee Quintenea were each recognized for their respective efforts in enhancing the community’s cultural and social landscape.

Renee received a certificate of appreciation for her role in de-escalating a potentially volatile situation during a recent community event. Her actions helped maintain peace and order, ensuring the event proceeded smoothly.

Bonnie, the president of the Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild, was acknowledged for her dedication in providing musical events in Canyon Lake. She has been instrumental in overseeing five concerts in Canyon Lake, including the popular “Harbor Fest,” which is offered free to the entire community at the Holiday Harbor Amphitheater. Her efforts have significantly contributed to the cultural richness of Canyon Lake.

“The Board wanted to recognize Bonnie for her outstanding leadership in bringing the gift of music to Canyon Lake,” Canyon Lake POA President Bill Van Vleet said. “The Guild screens top quality cover bands and puts on five concerts per year.”

Doug was commended for his leadership with the Concerts at the Lodge series. As a long-time concert promoter, he has worked tirelessly to bring entertainment to the community, featuring well-known original bands across various music genres. His commitment to providing high-quality musical experiences has been a valuable addition to the community’s entertainment options.

“We also wanted to recognize and thank Doug for bringing his vast experience as a concert promoter to Canyon Lake,” Bill said. “He is able to bring top talent and original bands to Canyon Lake in our Concerts at the Lodge Series each year.”

Both the Guild and the Concerts at the Lodge Series have announced their upcoming concert lineups for 2024, which are expected to be captivating and diverse.

“Few communities are as blessed as Canyon Lake to experience up to nine concerts per year,” Bill said. “We greatly appreciate the dedication and talent Bonnie and Doug bring to our community to enhance our ‘bit of paradise’.”
