Canyon Cowboy to host Sara Price fundraiser tomorrow

The Canyon Cowboy restaurant is rallying community support for Sara Price, a former resident of Canyon Lake, as she prepares to compete in the 2024 Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia. A fundraiser is scheduled for tomorrow from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, to support Sara in her adventurous quest.

Sara, who grew up in Canyon Lake and later purchased her first home in the community, has nurtured a dream of participating in the Dakar Rally for many years.

“Being behind the wheel of an off-road vehicle in the Dakar Rally has been at the top of my bucket list for as long as I can remember,” Sara said. “This year, I promised myself I would do everything in my power to race in 2024, and now this dream is a reality. I’m more ready than ever and want to make America proud.”

The fundraiser at the Canyon Cowboy will feature raffles, giveaways, music, and special guests, with VIP tickets available at Sarapricemx.com. The event aims to gather support for Sara’s participation in the grueling and prestigious Dakar Rally.

Sara, a stunt professional and member of the SAG-AFTRA Union, has a rich background in motorsports, beginning with dirt bike racing when her family moved to Canyon Lake. She has earned 19 amateur titles and a medal in Women’s Super X at the 2010 X-Games. In 2016, she was named the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Rising Star.

Her official announcement for the Dakar Rally was made on Sept. 28 in Mohave Valley, AZ. The rally, a 15-day event starting Jan. 5, will see Sara competing in the T4 Category, driving a BFGoodrich-equipped CanAm Maverick X3, with Jeremy Gray as her navigator. They have already begun preparations, including participating in the Rallye du Maroc in northern Africa.

The 2024 Dakar Rally is set to feature 820 competitors from 68 nationalities, covering about 6,000 miles over 12 stages in 14 days. Sara’s participation not only represents her personal ambitions, but also serves as a source of pride for the Canyon Lake community.
