Rocktoberfest lives up to its name

Holiday Harbor Park was rocking to live bands as more than 1,000 attendees enjoyed beer from several local breweries at The Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club 9th Annual Rocktoberfest 2023 Saturday.

“It was an absolute pleasure to witness over a thousand attendees at our ultimate rock ‘n’ roll beer festival,”  Blair Avery, the club’s social media chair and historian, said. “The event featured incredible performances by Black Rock Candy and Buckle Up, delectable food offerings from outstanding vendors, and an array of exciting games.”

Attending the big party was free, but beer tastings from the six local breweries required paid wristbands. Two tastings per brewery were included with the wristband.

The participating local microbreweries were Belching Beaver, BJ Brewery, Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar, Mash Masters, Stadium Pizza and The Bruery & Offshoot Beer Co.

“A special thank you is extended to each of the breweries for their invaluable contributions that ensured the success of this event,” Blair said. “We hope that everyone had an amazing time and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to share the Rocktoberfest experience once again in the future. Rock On!”

Rock bands Black Rock Candy and Buckle Up took the amphitheater stage and played throughout the afternoon.

The presence and support of all attendees added a unique and special dimension to this event. The vibrant community spirit was on full display as attendees embraced the Rocktoberfest experience. The level of creativity and passion showcased in the costumes was truly remarkable.

Even kids enjoyed the event, playing on the playground, wearing costumes, and enjoying time making new friends.

The proceeds from the event will again be earmarked for community philanthropic endeavors of the Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club.
